The Safe Streets for All (“SS4A”) Grant Program is a federal initiative under the U.S. Department of Transportation (“USDOT”) designed to enhance road safety and reduce traffic-related deaths and serious injury. Established under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, this program provides substantial funding for local, regional, and tribal transportation safety projects. The SS4A program supports the USDOT’s goal of zero roadway deaths using a Safe System Approach.
The City of Sunbury was awarded grant money to develop a Safety Action Plan with well-defined strategies to prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries in our city limits and enhance pedestrian and cyclist safety to promote a culture of safety within the community.

This plan builds on existing city plans and focuses on reducing crashes, guiding future infrastructure projects, and partnering with the community to create safer, more connected roadways by 2040.
