Release Procedure
Certain documentation and items may be required before a vehicle can be released from impound. It is strongly recommended that you contact the Police Department prior to your arrival to confirm what items are necessary for your specific situation.
Examples of required items may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- A valid driver's license and current vehicle registration
- Court documentation indicating that the vehicle has been approved for release and outlining any applicable release conditions
- If the vehicle was towed due to expired license plates, valid plates or an updated registration sticker
- If the vehicle was towed due to an expired driver's license, a valid license or a properly licensed driver
- If the vehicle was towed due to a suspended driver's license, a second properly licensed driver to operate the vehicle upon release from the impound lot
Payment
Impound fees are $100 plus $15 each day, excluding weekends and holidays. Types of acceptable payment include:
- Cash
- Check
- Credit card
- Money order
Impound Hours
Impound lot hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The impound lot is not open on weekends or holidays.
